Nikkie, our faithful Haflinger mare, gets support from Odessa (left, shown while being trained in Bern) and Medrano, two young horses of the same breed specially suited for our mountainous terrain. For the time being they work individually transporting all the goods and luggage between the station of the funicular and our hotel – in spring 2010 though, they will work in a team of two to make their task easier. Nevertheless, whenever the load is too heavy or the time too short, we are glad to be able to fall back onto the services of the local transport companies.
